About Us

My name is Ruth Anderson Gleeson, I'm a Life Rites celebrant and minister specialising in death rites and shrouding ceremonies.

I come from a religious background; my uncle was a missionary priest and my aunt was a nun in a teaching order. My particular background is more spiritually inclusive.

 

When I was eighteen years old I had a very bad accident that changed my perception of life and death. It left me more in tune with nature and ideas of an all encompassing spirituality. 

​

I have taught for many years from primary school children, university students, foreign students and adults returning to high education. Now I find myself in a spiritual teaching role where my passion is to change people's perception and fear of death and encourage a more holistic and natural approach to funerals. 

​

I discovered shrouding through my Life Rites work and want to share this rite with my community as I fundamentally understand and feel the deeply healing benefits of these ceremonies and how they can aid the grieving process for the families.

​

For me, shrouding is the ultimate act of love and service and I feel deeply honoured to be involved in every ceremony.
